The most widely used public transport system in Cape Town is its network of minibus taxis. These minibuses can be found on most of the main thoroughfares throughout Cape Town. They originate from large centralised taxi ranks and follow set routes, yet they don't have dedicated stopping points or shelters. They are a vital and versatile part of the transport system and can be hailed from practically anywhere you spot them.
Unfortunately no buses service the De Waterkant area. However the newly-introduced MyCiti service can be easily accessed on Loop Street, Long Street or lower Buitengracht. These white, red and blue buses service the V&A Waterfront, Green Point, city central and Gardens Centre mall and can be linked to the Airport and North Western suburbs of Cape Town via the bus terminal at the Civic Centre in the city centre.
